Genre: Adventure
Mise En Scene:
Setting- Night, exotic rainforest, Isla Nuba, 120 Miles West of Costa Rica, present tense.
Costume- Guard uniform, expert wearing typical hunter costume.
Facial expressions and body language- Workers and expert look prepared and ready for whatever may happen.
Lighting- Very dark with a clear hint of searchlight-like equipment being used to light the scene and the area.
Camera:
- Low angle shot creeping up on the ready stance of the dinosaur expert.
- Camera moves towards the containment unit and then moves to the left with it. Panning?
- Long establishing shot is used as the containment unit is secured on the ground.
- Camera resembles the Raptor's point of view through the visor of the containment unit.
- Static shot on dinosaur expert as the workers pace past.
Sound:
- Sound of leaves on the trees being moved by the wind and forklift truck.
- Frantic but calm shouting as the workers see the forklift truck and containment unit approaching.
- Sound of forklift trucks' mechanisms as it moves.
- Non-diagetic soundtrack playing throughout the scene.
- Orders spoken by the expert and clear head of the operation.
- Raptor squeals as the workers approach the unit.
- The soundtrack increases in volume as the scene progresses- possibly to represent the Raptor's frustration and fright?
- Diagetic alarm rings as the Raptor escapes.
Editing:
- Fast clean shots used to show the desperation of the leader of the operation as he attempts to save the gatekeeper from dying.
- Match on action edit used when a worker approaches the unit. Shows the worker from the Raptor's point of view which then switches to showing the worker step back in fright.
- Lots of clean cuts are used as the scene increases in pace. For example, when the gatekeeper falls and all of the workers try to contain the dinosaur and stop it from causing any damage.
