Mise En Scene
This poster shows Batman looking over Gotham City as a figure of hope and protection. There is no distinct examples of iconography relating to the setting although when the city is paired with Batman it is instantly recognised as Gotham. Batman is recognised fairly easily amongst all types of society. The visible parts of Batman's costume consists of a long, dark cape and a mask in the shape of a bat's head (with the long pointed ears). Batman's body language and stance suggests a sense of pride for his city whilst also looking rather intimidating due to his upright position with his arms fixed to his side. The lighting of the poster is very dark which could be used to summarise the content of the movie- dark and gloomy. The poster is very mysterious in that it does not show Batman from his front. The poster is a good example of a "wide shot", showing the entirety of the city and Batman looming over it too.
